About the job

We are looking for a Tribal Community Account Coordinator to join our team. The ideal candidate will coordinate tribal member service functions, conducting outreach, awareness, and education on broadband resource related issues. This position also supports engagements within the Yukon-Kuskokwim Delta Tribes and concerned citizens on broadband issues and digital adoption strategies, including preparation of meetings, calendars, phone calls and administration of communications activities. You can get up to speed quickly and contribute to new projects and enjoy solving complex problems in a fast-paced environment.

 

 Responsibilities:

  • In coordination with the Tribal Community Engagement Lead, establish and manage all broadband accounts from setup, through the prepaid period, to final transition to Starlink.  
  • Understanding of the FCCs Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP) and enrollment process.
  • Attend and assist in logistics of tribal community meetings and events.   
  • Participate in both internal team and client meetings.   
  • Write preparation activities, such as organizing monthly reports, entering data, and summarizing projects and service areas.  
  • Maintain accurate records and reports.   
  • Willingness to make suggestions and ask questions for clarification.   
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and goals in a given week.   
  • Acts as an initial point of contact for member information.  
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.   

 

Preferred qualifications

  • High school diploma required. 
  • Minimum 2 years professional work experience working with tribes, non-profits, or related fields. 
  • Conversational Yup’ik proficiency is required. 
  • Computer skills and ability to learn and adopt tools that may be new: We primarily utilize Microsoft Office (Teams, Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint). 
  • Ability to create and deliver simple presentations. 
  • Basic verbal and written communication abilities with clear grammar, structure, and cohesive thought. 
  • Knowledge of grant programs and community/regional/tribal/ educational/charitable programs and activities preferred. 
  • US Citizenship required.

Physical Demands

Work is primarily indoors in an office setting. No unusual physical activity is required. However, you may travel within Alaska, and in doing so will expose the employee to extreme cold: temperatures typically -10 up to -50 degrees below freezing wind chill for periods of up to 5 hours outside, with frequent breaks in warm dry areas. Employee must be able to lift their personal luggage and any personal equipment/supplies and climb into and out of small planes with confined spaces.
