The DHS U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services Awards New Artificial Intelligence Services Contract to Akiak Technology

The U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) is a component of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and is responsible for overseeing lawful immigration to the United States. Acknowledging the transformative potential of AI technology, USCIS was seeking to enhance its operational and decision-making capabilities through expert architectural and governance support.  

Under the awarded contract, Akiak Technology will support USCIS by developing and implementing AI architecture and governance. Tasks include creating standardized AI processes and use cases, developing and deploying AI solutions, and managing AI programs to align with USCIS goals. Akiak Technology will also establish and maintain an AI Innovation Lab for continuous improvement, provide ongoing technical support and security maintenance, and ensure effective knowledge transfer to USCIS teams. Additionally, Akiak will establish governance mechanisms and policies for AI usage and conduct retrospective analyses to capture lessons learned and improve future AI projects.
