The DOC Bureau of Industry and Security Awards New Support Services Contract to Akiak Technology LLC

The BIS awarded to Akiak Technology LLC its professional Analysis Support Services for its Office of Technology Evaluation (OTE’s) Export Administration (EA). The objective is to enhance the OTE’s ability to conduct technical analysis, research, data analytics, data visualization, and technical support for the BIS EA. 

The Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS) promotes national security, foreign policy, and economic interests by formulating export control policies, issuing export licenses, and prosecuting violations to strengthen the nation’s economic prosperity. Additionally, BIS designs and implements policies and programs to maintain a robust and technologically advanced defense industrial base. 

Akiak Technology supports the BIS mission by providing task management, advanced data analysis, and integration support for the BIS EA, specifically in implementing and enforcing additional dual-use export controls related to trade with Russia following its invasion of Ukraine. Akiak’s subject matter experts (SMEs) offer specialized consultation, advice, and recommendations to address questions arising from U.S. businesses requesting exemptions from Section 232 tariffs on steel and aluminum. Akiak delivers technical expertise, advising on improvements and collaborating closely with project teams and senior management to identify optimal solutions for various management, organizational, and business challenges. This includes strategic support in industrial survey development, issuance, compliance, and the evaluation of emerging technologies.
