Akiak Technology is looking for a DecSecOps Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate seeks to automate all aspects of software development. You enjoy working in a continuous delivery (CD) environment where you strive to ensure fast feedback on the code and system is available to all. You understand how to architect, develop, and implement secure and efficient processes to deploy and monitor applications. You understand both software development and operations, with expertise in areas such as networking, security, test automation, and continuous integration/deployment. You can get up to speed quickly and contribute to new software development projects and enjoy solving complex problems in a fast-paced environment. 

 Responsibilities:

• Expertise engineering scalable, high-performing web applications that are built using various languages and frameworks like React, Ruby, Python, Java and relational databases like PostgreSQL and Oracle
• Expertise in DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, GitOps, and automation tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, GitHub actions)
• Expertise designing, implementing, and maintaining CI/CD pipelines that incorporate automated security testing, vulnerability scanning, and compliance checks
• Expertise developing and maintaining infrastructure as code (IaC) codebases like Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible
• Expertise in implementing and managing identity and access management (IAM) solutions, ensuring appropriate authentication and authorization mechanisms are in place
• Expertise collaborating with development, operations, and security teams to integrate security best practices into the software development lifecycle
• Expertise collaborating with software engineers to provide guidance on secure coding practices and assist in the remediation of security findings
• Expertise with at least one cloud platform (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP)
• Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)
• Experience performing regular security assessments, code reviews, and penetration testing to identify and address vulnerabilities and weaknesses in applications, code, and infrastructure
• Experience monitoring and analyzing system and application logs to detect and respond to security incidents 

Preferred qualifications

• You must have a minimum of 5 – 8 years of experience as a DevOps Engineer
• You must have a bachelor’s degree in computer science or engineering or related degree or equivalent experience
• You must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. now and in the future without sponsorship
• Must meet all requirements for obtaining and maintaining a Public Trust Clearance
