As part of our growth, we are searching for an IT Operations Manager. This position is based in the Washington DC metro area.

This position performs a key role in delivering the core infrastructure and foundational technologies for the Akiak family of companies and Technology-as-a-Service (TaaS) to tribal and business partners. This role calls for a balance of leadership, influence skills, supportive individual contributions, and expertise in enterprise-level IT operations.


  • Apply leadership and management practices that engage project teams and support collaboration across functional groups, tribal stakeholders, federal agencies.
  • Oversee, manages and sets the strategic direction for the office IT Infrastructure and Operations.
  • Responsible for the effective deployment of hardware, databases and software to maximize the quality of services delivered to both the user community.
  • Perform management duties including staff retention, annual reviews, hiring, training and mentoring.
  • Participates in the testing and evaluation of new and emerging technologies as applicable to business service requirements.
  • Performs systems administration duties to install, configure, manage and advance the use of IT resources on premise, in the cloud, or in a hybrid combination to meet the needs of our client organizations.
  • Assist with processing subcontracts, purchase orders, monthly progress billings, reports, and spreadsheets.

Preferred qualifications

  • Completed at least two-years in undergraduate courses in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or other related discipline is required.  
  • Requires a minimum of ten (10) years of experience at a senior level, or team lead, in the areas of IT operations, including help desk support operations, on/offboarding users, and managing resources using complex deployment platforms. 
  • Self-starter and quick learner with lots of initiative, working independently without day-to-day supervision of tasks and proactively seeking solutions to problems.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), Project.
  • Expert user with Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, Azure Active Directory
  • Must meet all requirements for obtaining and maintaining a Public Trust Clearance.
